Doujinshi 01.24

Sunday, August 19th, 2007 at 3:56 pm

Hmm. I got a scanner and a cheap-end Wacom halfway through doing this. I have a lot of learning to do.

Still, there is violence and loss of clothing, as requested.

I’m going to Japan for a month this Friday, so there’ll be a hiatus while I’m there.

    Hee!

Have fun in Japan. I am a litte bit jealous; it’s a place I really want to visit one day.

A whole month? No posts? *entitlement!cakes* We will miss you.

How do you like your Wacom?

Alankria - thanks! I’m sure you’ll go to Japan one day. We’ve been before but only for three days, so this is our first proper trip.

Kirby - Oh, I’ll be posting, but probably no art or doujinshi episodes. (Actually, instead of my scribbles there might be some nice photos of Japan!)

The Wacom is useful for some things, like colouring in and drawing splines. For freehand drawing it doesn’t seem anything like as good as a pen or pencil. I tried a high-end tablet at a friend’s place and even it didn’t seem as good for that. But maybe you get used to it with practice.

“Training girls to be good wives and wise mothers.” Apparently, making young women into bishounen who turn legions of fangirls lesbo for them is somehow conducive to maintaining the heteronormative standard. Ahaha. Japan, never stop with the crazy, we love you so.

A lot of people say they could never get used to using a tablet for sketching, but then they do get used to it and wonder how they ever made do without it. …I am not one of those people. Though I do have a tablet. It’s not high end but it’s not a bad one either.

Wow, it’s already time for the Japan trip?! How time flies…

It might depend on the program you’re using. With my old Photoshop there are limits to what the Wacom can achieve. I’ve got some other software but haven’t had time (novel #2!) to check it out.
