I don't think it was tongue in cheek, sadly. To you and me he's plainly batshit, but the danger is that to certain legislators his ideas may appear quite reasonable. I do think it's necessary to state one's opposition to lunatic ideas, and to eloquently ridicule them, because lunacy can eventually become mainstream.

You want to see Beth, chibi Gwynn and a tentacle monster demonstrating Sterile Sex Week...?

I read the post in question and actually found it quite amusing; I think that frothing crazies are actually very useful in helping to illustrate logical inconsistencies in the debates of conservatives. Said conservatives are, I think, much more dangerous than the John C. Wrights of the world (and speaking of such, is it just me or has he deleted the entry in question?) because they can make the terrifying sound *reasonable*. Then along comes Mr Wright and he says exactly the same thing, but comes across as so obviously so batshit that someone, somewhere, is bound to see the similarities between the two and go, "hmm".

That said, I actually enjoyed Mr Wright's little rant. I found it hilarious and honestly, I'm still not entirely certain if it wasn't written with tongue in cheek. Seriously, it was funny. Scary, but still funny. Mr Duncan's response was excellent but ultimately I wonder if it was at all necessary. Mr Wright will have and does have ardent supporters of his views, but he has done them absolutely no favours.

Really...porny cartoons? I'd love to see. 8-)~
