Listening to you-know-who
As the voice of Winnie the Pooh
I melted into a puddle of goo.
“This is bad,” said Pooh to me.
“I know,” I said to Pooh.
“I might very well pass for forty-three,
Yet all I seem to do
Is go goo-goo at you-know-who.”
“You are a cougar,” said Pooh to me.
“Damn true,” I said to Pooh.
Us Two, by A.A. Milne, read by Helena Bonham Carter and Tom Hiddleston. Takes me back to David Bowie reading Peter and the Wolf. <3
Speaking of celebrities, have — if you like — some pictures of Iggy Pop in a dress. No, not from Dead Man. This dress. And here in a scarf or something, playing dressups with Bowie.
Hi
I was popping over to ask if I could find you on Twitter. I tried myself, but there were nearly 400 others there with a similar name. o_0
I didn’t like Twitter at first (and by at first I mean like years) but eventually I started using it. It’s a lot less stressful than blogging, to be honest. I don’t always have to have something relevant/timely/artistic to say to simply communicate, which is a relief.
None of this has anything to do with Iggy Pop in a dress, but I find him oddly yummy like that. Wow.
I’m not on Twitter, but have been thinking I should try something like Twitter or Tumblr that’s geared towards short posts, as I rarely seem to get motivated enough to make long blog posts anymore. Too many other things to do, maybe.
Yeah, I’m not sure about the top picture, but where he’s skipping around he looks pretty fab.
I’ve been having fun getting to know Tumblr, since I can post snippets of fiction, links, pictures, drawings, video, or just anything I feel like throwing up there. The only advantage Tumblr over doing the exact same thing with blogging is that the material I post doesn’t have to interrelate with anything or be put into context. It just IS, which takes a little getting used to but ultimately is a lot less pressure than blogging. Blogging is really more like writing personal articles and essays, which can be draining. With Tumblr, I don’t have to encapsulate my thoughts into a theme for neat public consumption when the form allows me not to do that. Kinda cool.

PS: The world needs more men in evening gowns.
I sometimes get frustrated by the lack of context on Tumblr — when I want to know the source of an image and it ain’t anywhere to be found. But I like the immediacy of Tumblr. Quite often I just want to mention something I’ve found, without writing a thesis about why I like it.
Yes to the P.S. — a search for “men in evening gowns” turned up depressingly little.
