Scruffy, adipose

‘Are you trying to grow a beard, then?’
‘I’m not trying. A beard is the result of inaction, not action.’
‘Blah blah, distinguished grey, blah blah.’
‘You’re trying to get me to shave by insulting my beard.’
‘I didn’t insult it. I called it distinguished.’
‘Which is what you call an older man when you don’t want him to feel bad.’
‘No, it means handsome. A man who looks good for his age.’ (No, help, I didn’t mean it like that. I meant a really gorgeous silvering gent who is way more attractive than any stripling youth.)
‘It’s like calling a woman “curvaceous”. ‘
‘No, that just means “fat”. “Distinguished” means…’
‘Something completely different to the other person!’
