  1. So evocative (and wonderfully, simply photographed) – primitive and powerful little shadow-creatures. The patinas on mask and birds are so effective, and the shapes they make together when dancing all three in a circle are weird and wonderful.

        I have a bit of a thing for prehistoric art — cave painters of yore were an inspiration for these. I do see them as very early beings — that could always come back as shadows on a wall.

        (Re the photos, I used PVC sheet for the backdrop — it’s white, which is possibly not the best colour, but it seems to work fairly well and can be cleaned with shampoo!)
